Floating floor
A floating floor refers to a floor with an installation system in which the floor is not attached directly to the substrate.
The floating floor is thus laid loosely on the base, leaving so-called expansion joints around the walls, which are then masked by using floor (plinth) strips.
The floating floor laying system is usually called the Click-system, in which the individual floor boards are simply connected to each other. A floating floor allows the natural movement of the floor, as the floor naturally expands and contracts under the influence of humidity and temperature in the room.
A laminate floor or a laminate floor with a click-installation system can be included with a floating floor, but not a glued vinyl floor, which may cause the floor to curl in case of unprofessional installation.
