Laminate floor thickness
The right quality laminate flooring is of sufficient thickness. This should depend in particular on where you will use the floor. For rooms with a heavier load, such as a hallway, living room or kitchen, we recommend a laminate floor with a higher thickness, namely 8 mm, 10 mm or 12 mm. These are the rooms in which you spend a lot of time every day.
You can also choose a laminate floor with a lower thickness, such as 6 mm, for rooms with a lower load, but if you want the floor to last you as long as possible, we recommend a thickness of at least 8 mm.
Laminate floor load
The height of the laminate floor also depends on where the floor will be located. At the same time, the higher the space usability, the higher load is required. For residential areas, we recommend load class AC4 / 32, which is also suitable for commercial premises.
Quality of V-grooves
With modern laminate floors, which are installed in a floating manner, you can choose from two types - with a V-groove and without a V-groove. The V-groove is a small gap created by joining two lamellas. Thanks to the space between the individual slats, the floor is more like wood and looks more natural.
If you choose a floor without a V-groove, you will also get a very modern and complete floor. However, it is important that the joints are of good quality and also the possible V-groove. The floor without a V-groove must not contain any gaps after installation, and in the case of a V-groove, the individual slats must fit together with the same gap.
Appearance
What the floor looks like is also very important. Nevertheless, the floor occupies a large area and completes the overall atmosphere in the room. Therefore, make sure that the decor is nicely crafted and that the colour matches your ideas.
