For daily cleaning try to avoid any hard brushes or sponges. It does not matter if you use laminate, vinyl, wooden floor or ceramic tiles, a large pressure imposed by a hard object may cause a mechanical damage.
Cleaning according to the type of floor
If you favour a special cleaner, please, use only the one suitable for your type of floor. Practically it means that if you have the vinyl floor, use only cleaners intended for the vinyl floor. In case you used a cleaner for a different type of the floor, you may damage the surface of the floor, its protecting coating or decor.
A special care about the floor
Some materials require a special care. For example in the case of wooden floor. After the floor installation you can put wax-based floor finish or oil-based floor finish - everything depends on the type of brand and floor. Interior vs. exterior
Cleaning and maintenance of the floor obviously differs depending on whether it is placed in the interior or the exterior. For the exterior flooring system or tiles for the balcony or terrace you have to do maintenance more often. Moreover, it is important to bear in mind the impact of the environment which also affects the life time of your floor.
