Parabond Flex Seal F – Flexible Liquid Waterproofing for Walls, Floors and Foundations

Parabond Flex Seal F by DL Chemicals is a versatile MS polymer-based waterproofing coating. After curing, it forms a flexible, watertight and vapour-tight protective membrane on suitable construction surfaces.

It is designed for indoor and outdoor waterproofing, particularly on larger continuous areas. Typical applications include concrete foundations, basement walls, masonry, floors, shower areas, terraces and other compatible structures.

The product is ready to use and can be applied with a brush or roller.

Waterproofing Bathrooms and Shower Areas

Parabond Flex Seal F can be used to create a waterproofing membrane on suitable bathroom and shower walls and floors.

It is important to ensure a continuous coating, the correct thickness and proper reinforcement of corners, joints and cracks with geotextile.

Before installing subsequent wall or floor coverings, verify the compatibility of all materials and allow the membrane to cure sufficiently.

How to Apply Parabond Flex Seal F

1. The substrate must be sound, clean and free from dust, grease, loose material and sharp protrusions.

2. Remove standing water, droplets and continuous water films. A slightly damp substrate is acceptable.

3. Stir the product thoroughly before use.

4. Apply with a brush or roller in one or more coats, depending on the application.

5. For conventional multi-coat applications, allow the first coat to dry completely before applying the next.

6. Reinforce corners, joints and cracks with geotextile according to the manufacturer's instructions. Embed the geotextile into the wet coating and cover it completely.

7. Allow the waterproofing membrane to cure sufficiently before subsequent construction work or loading.

Recommended coating thickness according to application:

• Approximately 1 mm for protective and anti-slip coatings

• Approximately 2 mm for waterproofing, roof protection and crack repairs

Approximate consumption: 1.5 kg/m² at a thickness of 1 mm.

One 6 kg bucket theoretically covers approximately 2 m² at a total waterproofing thickness of 2 mm. Actual consumption depends on the substrate and application method.

Important Limitations

Parabond Flex Seal F is not suitable for bituminous substrates, natural stone, PE, PP, PA, PTFE, polyacrylate or polycarbonate.

It is not intended for movement joints, drinking water tanks or ponds.

The product may cause staining on natural stone. Always verify substrate suitability and follow the manufacturer's current technical data sheet.

Is Parabond Flex Seal F an adhesive or a waterproofing product?

Yes. The manufacturer lists shower waterproofing among its applications. Correct membrane thickness, reinforcement of critical areas and application procedures must be followed.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The product is suitable for specified outdoor applications and offers high resistance to UV radiation and weathering.

Can it be applied to slightly damp surfaces?

Yes. The substrate may be slightly damp but must not have standing water or a continuous water film.

How much area does one 6 kg bucket cover?

At a consumption rate of 1.5 kg/m² per 1 mm thickness, a bucket theoretically covers approximately 4 m² at 1 mm or 2 m² at 2 mm. Actual consumption may be higher.

Is it suitable for natural stone?

No. The manufacturer warns that it may cause staining on natural stone.

Is it suitable for movement joints?

No. The manufacturer does not recommend it for movement joints.

Can tiles be installed over the waterproofing membrane?

The manufacturer indicates that subsequent tiling and plastering are possible. Compatibility of the materials must be verified and the membrane must be sufficiently cured.

Can it be used to install PVC wall panels?

It is not intended as a mounting adhesive for PVC wall panels. Use a suitable mounting adhesive according to the panel and substrate type.
