Thermal resistance

The thermal resistance of the floor is the degree to which the floor slows down the transfer of heat between the floor and the surroundings. Thermal resistance is usually expressed by the R value (resistance). A higher R value means a higher thermal resistance and therefore a better insulating ability.

Footstep noise

Footstep noise is a sound phenomenon that occurs when people walk or move on the floor and is perceived as noise in neighboring rooms or one floor below. It is one of the main aspects of acoustic comfort in buildings and can be caused by a variety of factors, including floor surface material, insulation and floor construction.

Footing layer

The tread layer is the upper part of the floor surface that comes into direct contact with walking and use. This layer has the task of resisting wear, scratching, pressure and other physical influences to which the floor is exposed during its use. The tread layer affects the appearance, durability and maintenance of the floor.

Squeegee

A screed is a granular material containing a cement or gypsum component that is used to create a firm and even base layer on the floor before the final floor covering such as vinyl, carpet, PVC and others is laid over it.

Vinyl crank

It is a system of connecting boards using a click mechanism. This mechanism allows for easy installation without the need for glue or nails. Crank vinyl is a popular material for flooring in the home because it is resistant to moisture, easy to maintain and can have various design patterns that imitate wood, stone or tiles.

Vinyl glued

In the case of glued vinyl, the individual slats are glued to the substrate, which creates a permanent connection. Glued flooring is durable and stable, but installation can be more difficult and requires accurate surface preparation and the correct use of adhesive.

SPC mineral floor

SPC mineral floor is a type of modern floor covering made of a special material called "Stone Polymer Composite" (SPC). This material combines stone and PVC plastic and is known for its resistance and durability. SPC flooring is designed to be waterproof, scratch-resistant and easy to clean. It is often used in commercial and domestic environments, and its properties make it suitable for wet rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens. Installation of SPC flooring can be done in a variety of ways, including gluing or a click system.

Vinyl floor

Vinyl flooring is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or other plastic materials. This type of flooring is popular for its moisture resistance, easy maintenance and various design options. Vinyl flooring can mimic a variety of materials, such as wood, stone or tile, and is suitable for a variety of environments, including homes and commercial spaces. They can be installed in different ways.

Surface treatment

Surface treatment of the floor means applying a protective coating or material to the surface of the floor. This treatment has several objectives, including protecting the floor from damage, increasing its resistance, improving the aesthetic appearance and facilitating maintenance. Finishing may include the use of varnish, oil, wax, epoxy or other materials that provide protection and enhance the appearance of the floor.

Brushing / Brushing

Floor brushing is a specific process used in the manufacture of wood or other floor coverings to achieve a certain textured or rustic appearance. During this process, a brush or brush is applied to the surface of the floor

1-lamella

This value indicates how many (number) there are in a given dimension of slats. 1-slat means that there is only 1 slat across the entire width of the board (wide board).

2-lamella

This value indicates how many (number) there are in a given dimension of slats. 2-slat means that there are 2 slats across the entire width of the board.

3-lamella

This value indicates how many (number) there are in a given dimension of slats. 3-slat means that there are 3 slats across the entire width of the board.

Micro beveled edge 4V

The 4V micro-beveled edge is a term used for a special design element in floor coverings or parquets that includes small rounded edges on all four sides of each board. This rounding is usually used for wooden floors, where it protrudes
