What do you need to know before buying a floor skirting?

Floor skirting are an integral part of the new floor. It doesn't matter if you are looking for a skirting for the vinyl in the bathroom, for the laminate floor in the bedroom or for the wooden floor in the hallway - in any case, you have to think carefully about your purchase.

What skirting material do you need?

One of the first things you need to consider is the floor material. In our offer you will find plastic floor skirting, MDF floor skirting, but also wooden floor skirting. We recommend wooden floor skirting for wooden floors, you can choose plastic or MDF skirting for vinyl and laminate.

 

How long skirting you need?

Another important parameter is length. Before you start the purchase itself, measure the walls. It is good to make at least a 20% reserve in case you make a mistake or you damage skirting during the installation.

What width of skirting do you need?

The floor skirting have different not only length but also width. Wider floor skirting are more pronounced and look more dominant in the room. Narrower floor skirting, on the other hand, are less pronounced and do not attract as much attention in the room.

 

How many and what accessories for floor skirting do you need?

In our offer, you will find two types of floor skirting - with or without accessories. The slats without accessories are made of MDF and you can cut them at an angle at the end or when connecting another slat.

The slats with accessories do not cut. Use one of the add-ons to close or reconnect them. The accessories for the skirting include:

  • right end
  • left end

 

The accessories for the skirting are supplied separately and you choose the number. Calculate how many corners and corners there are in the room. Add to them the connectors that you place between the skirting in the part where one rail is powered by the other. Don't forget the right and left endings either.
